Consumer Reviews

I'll admit that my 1st reaction to hearing about this show was mild distaste. It sounded like just one more trashy teen show. My roommate watched it, though, and I saw bits and pieces now and then, but not sufficient to comprehend what was happening. Following only a few weeks of just watching a minute or two of each episode, I was hooked.
Sure, when you attempt to clarify the premise to someone, it sounds a bit idiotic: 4 girls trying to solve a friend's murder whilst getting stalked. What is virtually impossible to describe is the utterly addictive good quality this show has.
The four girls develop on you promptly. They all have their secrets, their faults, their moments of stupidity, their moments of brilliance. Most importantly is that ultimately these girls become beloved to the audience. Hanna, who has to deal with her father's departure, but she's also the most badass of the girls. Aria, whose student/teacher relationship is the center of the romantic tension, but her love for literature and her maturity will develop on you. Emily, whose struggles with her sexuality never ever seem inexpensive or overdone, but accurate and beautiful. Spencer, by far my favorite, who is intelligent and snarky and has to deal with an increasingly hellish dwelling life. Even though perhaps described this way, they could not appear as well fascinating or deep, but their friendships continually really feel correct-to-life and I've in no way had any complaints against their acting or characterization.
As with any show of this sort, each girl has lots of romances. This is another way the show excels. Sure, I get tired of Aria and Ezra soon after a even though, but the reality that these are 16-year-old girls who are just attempting to figure out their emotions tends to make this aspect appear particularly true. Some of them are absolute gems -- any time Emily has to operate via her difficulties, Hannah's relationships with Caleb and especially Lucas, and my individual preferred: Spencer's romance at the end of the season, which is my absolute preferred aspect of the show in common.
The show is witty and rapidly-paced, with equally fascinating side characters -- to me, this show would be absolutely nothing without Toby Cavanaugh, for example. A, their nemesis who stalks and blackmails the girls, is a good villain and will have you guessing his/her identity and not trusting anyone in this show. Of course, the major mystery of the season is trying to figure out who killed Alison, their very best buddy, but the alot more you hear about Alison, the alot more confused you'll become. Particularly small is answered in this season, but that just adds to its charm.
The addictive quality, as I mentioned, can not be effectively described. I began watching this close to the end of the series, and I went back and watched the initially 18 or so episodes in two days. The show is riveting. You always want to know who killed Ali, who A is and what ridiculous tactic he/she will have subsequent, and what will occur to the Fairly Small Liars.
This show is, merely, the greatest on ABC Family members, and a single of my all-time favorites in common. I never ever expected to take pleasure in it as substantially as I did, so if you aren't watching it mainly because it sounds contrived... nicely, maybe the premise is, but I assure you that the result is an impressive show you'll want to watch more than and over once again. I surely do.

I originally began watching this show considering that I love Ashley Benson and was excited to see her operating on a different project. Even though that purpose would keep me tuning in each week if absolutely nothing else did, that is hardly the case. There is suspense, romance, drama, and even some comedy. There had been moments exactly where you'd really feel your eyes water or moments where you'd be stomping your feet in rage mainly because you could not think that character did that. This show is undoubtedly a winner and I believe that if any person, even if they weren't that interested, just sat down and watched a couple of episodes, they'd be hooked too. It's so beneficial that I planned my school schedule so that it would not conflict with the airings. Unlike other ABC Family shows, this is a single that even adults could get pleasure from.
